Marina Run 2009

Marina Run 2009 - A Family Affair

The start line at Dora The 1st edition of the 5K Marina Run, organized by the RRA in co-operation with the Veterans Club, took place on 18 January 2009. The course was fast and flat along the coast road between Dora and Dbayeh, and we were lucky that the rain held off. The first male runner, Hussein Awada (Lebanese Army), arrived in the amazing time of 15m 42s. The women’s field was sadly depleted due to sickness, and Noha Beydoun (RRA) coasted in to an easy victory at 21m 38s. A total of eighty-six runners completed the course within the 45 minutes allocated.

Red Bull kindly provided the finish arch and handed out cans of drinks. The awards ceremony took place at Club La Marina, Dbayeh, where the Managing Director, Nicole Baz, made us feel very welcome.
