The latest edition of the Mother of All Races earned its name!

The altitude half-marathon, which has never before been organized this late in the year, welcomed intrepid runners with ice cold weather (3° C) at 2000m altitude. Fortunately, the start was while the sun was still shining, but nevertheless freezing cold.  One hour 53 minutes after the start, black clouds invaded the sky and icy rain started pouring. Very quickly the welcoming terrace for the awards ceremony was deserted, and all were confined to the not so welcoming cafeteria of the ski lifts.

It was undeniably the mother of the Mother of All Races! In the posted results we have not included whoever was picked up in a car on his/her way back. Regarding the T-shirt distribution and the mess resulting from the contingency plan, anyone who did not get a finisher’s T-shirt, kindly email your size to roger@bejanibejani.com; we will take care of it.

Mother of Races

A great race indeed where all participants were serious runners and almost all serious runners were present. The bad weather just added flavor to the occasion.

Two comments since it is the section of comments:

1. I think the word "all" should be dropped from the name of the race to become "Mother of Races"; it becomes a shorter name, easier to use, direct and pure , and less pretentious.

2. I find my time in the results table incorrect since my Suunto watch showed at the finish line 2:08.47 s versus 2:09.50 s on the result table.

Bon courage for the new president.
