The latest edition of the Mother of All Races earned its name!
The altitude half-marathon, which has never before been organized this late in the year, welcomed intrepid runners with ice cold weather (3° C) at 2000m altitude. Fortunately, the start was while the sun was still shining, but nevertheless freezing cold. One hour 53 minutes after the start, black clouds invaded the sky and icy rain started pouring. Very quickly the welcoming terrace for the awards ceremony was deserted, and all were confined to the not so welcoming cafeteria of the ski lifts.
It was undeniably the mother of the Mother of All Races! In the posted results we have not included whoever was picked up in a car on his/her way back. Regarding the T-shirt distribution and the mess resulting from the contingency plan, anyone who did not get a finisher’s T-shirt, kindly email your size to email@example.com; we will take care of it.
Photos are available from the photographer Talal Fakhoury who has a shop in the Al-Bachoura area of Beirut. His telephone number is 01-658285 or 03-386088. His email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
