Race Results

About a hundred women runners lined-up at the start of the 5th edition of the 5K Al Bayroutya, an exclusive women’s race which is growing year after year (over 155 registered).

Early rising ladies of all ages took off from Riad el Solh square at 7:30 am and finished with grace at the Riviera Beach Resort, where they shared a generous breakfast during which awards were handed to the 3 first finishers of each age group. Despite the gloomy weather, the ladies and their proud family members or friends shared a unique moment of elation at the finish line and during the awards ceremony.

With a solid time of 19m11s (3m50s/K)  Hoda al Awadi from Ansar Club outclassed her Inter-Lebanon opponents Sonia Wansa Hanna (20m08s, 4m017s/K) and Marie el Amm (20m20s, 4m04s/K), who were 2nd and 3rd overall. Elga Trad of the Veterans Club ran her fastest ever 5K and finished 5th overall.

This was Inter-Lebanon’s 4th road race in 2011, and the 5th race, Bickfaya Flowers Race (7K), is scheduled for June 26th, 2011. Online registration will open soon.

not a way to race

i guess mirvat hamze going all out the first 1200m then pulling from the race didnt work
it is a very unimpressive move from someone who has been in racing for more than 10years
people need to grow up and start evolving.
good job Hoda.

Well done Girls!

Really impressive time for Hoda Mabrouk!Sonia, Marie and Elga...Well Done!
Even when she's running just for fun, Marie is quite a champ!
I loved this race even though the T-shirts were below expectations, the road was open for traffic from Ein El Mrayse...I had just the space to put one foot between the cars and the sidewalk to get to the finish line...the weather was not great...
I was so happy when I arrived to the finish line!
I bet I had the best celebrated finish! Thank you Roger, Sonia, Samer and everyone who cheered me on the road and at the finish!
I have grown a lot as a runner, stepped out of the 27-28min range for a 5k and reached my goal of finishing under 25min!
People are still congratulating me :)
