2:59:59 in 2010 ????

With unorthodox planning, and training as sporadic as can be, not to mention a very moody knee, I have lined-up 3 European cities to conquer this spring - Rotterdam, Hamburg and Copenhagen. The plan is simple. I will start with the Dutch city of Rotterdam, where I will run the marathon on April 11th. I will run a tempo of 14.1K/h (4m14s/k). If my 3 weeks of relatively good training prove to be enough to get me to the finish line in under the 3h mark, I'll snub Hamburg and maybe Copenhagen. If I don’t conquer Rotterdam in 2:59:59 or less, I'll consider my Dutch trial as a long run and start focusing on the Hamburg marathon. Same drill in Hamburg where a sub 3h marathon on April 25th may lead me to postpone the Copenhagen marathon to another year. Obviously, if I fail to run the 42.195Km in Hamburg in less than 3h, I will have to do it in the Danish capital. Failing to achieve this goal in 2010 is not an option. Which city will it be? |
