Clubs’ Championship 2010 – Day 3 (August 7th)

Clubs’ Championship 2010 – Day 2 (August 6th)

Gretta Taslakian, despite the tricky and unconventional (by IAAF new standards) curve of the Jamhour track, clocked her 2nd life time best in the 200m (24:11). She easily grabbed first place, while Saria Traboulsi, who was running her first race this year, came 4th. Janet also took first place in the javelin, as expected, but with no improvement on her NR.

Clubs’ Championship 2010 – Day 1 (August 5th)

A.B. Shaheen opening the championship with a NR hammer throw has become a sort of ritual it seems. On a hot morning in the Kfarshima field, the boy from Koura, residing in San Diego California, stretched the senior NR to 53.18 (the 2nd for A.B. and the 8th for Inter-Lebanon this year). We all agree, including A.B., that we want to see 60+ next year, and we know, and he knows, that it can be done.

Myschoolpulse Charity Event

Inter-Lebanon is joining the Myschoolpulse fund-raising effort on Sunday, 8 August 2010 with all its star athletes and record holders: Jean-Claude Rabbath, Gretta Taslakian, Maria Pia Nehme, Marie El Amm, Mirvat Hamzeh, A.B. Shaheen, Layla Karhani, Janet Said, and the rest of the team and coaches.

Lebanese Clubs’ Track & Field Championship 2010

Here it is knocking at each athlete’s door - the opportunity to compete for Inter-Lebanon on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 5-7 August at Jamhour. Let’s have fun and let everyone give his or her 110%.

Gretta Breaks National Record at BMA Launch

The Blom Beirut Marathon 2010 was launched by the Beirut Marathon Association on 22 July 2010. There were the usual speeches by dignitaries and sponsors, but BMA broke with tradition by having the launch in City Mall, Dora and inviting athletes to break the 60m indoor record under the supervision of the Lebanese Athletics Federation. Our very own Gretta Taslakian did just that! She ran the distance in 7.60 breaking her previous NR of 7.63 set earlier this year in Bucharest. This makes it Gretta’s 5th NR in 2010 and the 7th NR this year broken by an Inter-Lebanon athlete.
